Description
21st Century Photograph of one of many Rice University Gargoyles cut into the cloister of Lovett Hall in Houston, Texas. There are four gargoyles in the Rice Sallyport that represent students of each of the four undergraduate classes (Guardians of the Gate). This Gargoyle is known as the Goofy Freshman (or Sally Port Freshman). The Gargoyle was installed circa 1912 with the completion of Lovett Hall. This is one of the many little known Houston Gargoyles.
