Description
A photograph of Štanjel, Slovenia, an ancient village. It is located on the Karst Plateau overlooking the Vipava Valley. In the 17th century it was fortified to defend it against Ottoman raids. It was heavily damaged during World War II and it has been slowly rebuilt since. Štanjel is one of the oldest settlements in the Karst Region with some great view points: the characteristic defensive wall from the 15th century, Karst house from 14 century, Ferrari garden,...MUST VISIT!!!
