Susan Janus

Susan Janus

Interesting description! :)) I will have to try this technique sometime.

Norman Gabitzsch replied:

Susan ... there is so much more to light than just what we see. The invisible long wavelengths contained in Infrared bring out remarkable structure which the naked eye does not see. One word of warning about infrared. Just putting an external infrared filter on your camera probably not make it see infrared. The problem is that modern electronic sensors "see Light from UV through Infrared. The camera manfacturer puts a special filter INSIDE the camera to block out UV and Infrared. Thus you have to get a modified camera to do real infrared.

Chante Moody

Chante Moody

What sort of wizardry are you using to get images like this?! Beautiful!

Norman Gabitzsch replied:

Chante ... It's called infrared photography. Half the light is visible, half is invisible light that the eye does not see. The wizardry is to make the invisible become visible to the eye.

Vihre (population of 152 in the year 2002) is a small farming village in the Municipality of Krško in eastern Slovenia.
