Description
This is a Notan nature abstract 21st Century photograph of Pine Tree needles in Houston. The photograph was made with a 720 nm infrared converted Nikon Z6 on an overcast day. The basic style of the image is Chiaroscuro which is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting the whole composition. A form of minimalism called Notan has been invoked to create this abstract. Notan is part of Japanese art for centuries. Notan refers to the harmonious relationship between Light and Dark in an image. Notan can be abstract as well as representational.
