Description
Completed in 1964, 2016 Main Condominiums enjoys the distinction of being the first high-rise residential (living space/building) in Downtown Houston. Located on the corner of Main Street and Gray, next to the Pierce Elevated, this 26-story residential tower features spectacular views of Downtown Houston and surrounding areas.
Situated directly on the Houston light rail system, 2016 Main offers easy access to Downtown, Midtown, West University, the Texas Medical Center, and Reliant Park.
I photographed this image because of the spectacular Chiaroscuro patterns of the balconies of this Houston Architecture high-rise. Chiaroscuro, in art, is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting a whole composition.
