Description
This is an infrared photograph of a grain stalk against a wall at the top of the mountain Sljeme. The function of Infrared Photography is not to render the world as we see it, but rather to use light, dark and false color to enhance texture and composition. Since young green leaves are an excellent reflector of Infrared light they come out white in the infrared photograph.
Sljeme is the peak of Medvednica which is the mountain above Zagreb. Sljeme has an asphalted road running to the top with numerous hiking trails. Sljeme is one of Zagreb's favorite excursion destinations. There is also a ski slope on Sljeme, one of the locations for World Cup racing ( Snow Queen ).
