August in Houston is Hot. The dress code is light, comfortable, and casual. People spend most of their time indoors in airconditioning. The places to go to see Houstonians in summer are the shopping malls.
Houston is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas and the fourth-most populous city in the United States. The city has a population from various ethnic and religious backgrounds and a large and growing international community. Houston is the most diverse city in Texas and has been described as the most racially and ethnically diverse major metropolis in the U.S. During the summer, temperatures in Houston commonly reach over 90 °F (32 °C). The city reaches or surpasses this temperature on an average of 106.5 days per year, including a majority of days from June to September; additionally, an average of 4.6 days per year exceed 100 °F (38 °C).
